My search for a foreign bride ended before it began. I met my Viktoria while standing in the snow on a busy city sidewalk outside the club where several very assertive ladies had been trying all night to get acquainted with me. I stepped outside to catch my breath. I had not come to St. Petersburg for love, I had come for Mother Russia. When Viktoria passed by on her way in, our eyes met... and the rest is history. Five and a half years later, I still thank God every day for what I have although I certainly did not know then how good that would be.
In the months that would follow that late December evening, we corresponded, got engaged and I traveled to be with her 3 more times before she would finally arrive in the United States. I definitely committed my share of mistakes but nothing challenged us more than my inability to be with Viktoria for more than 3 days in all of 2003. It's interesting, and perhaps fortunate that while navigating the fiancee visa process for us I simultaneously helped and watched hundreds of others do so as well. I saw what worked and what didn't many times. I want to borrow upon all that collective experience to save you wasted time and energy in your search for love with a foreign lady.
Since Viktoria's arrival in January, 2004, we have added a baby girl to our family and relocated from Phoenix, Arizona to southern Wisconsin. When you throw in her handsome and talented son, Sergei and my three other children - we are very busy but having a blast! I am as blessed as blessed can be.
